A great day out conquering the second highest mountain of the Algarve, the marvelous Picota. An adventurous 7km hike with quite a bit of climbing. We cross beautiful Cork Oak forests and Eucalyptus forests, to finally arrive to the top of Picota. Here we can overlook all of the Algarve. We make our way

– adventurous hike from the foot of the Picota straight to the top
– mostly dirt track and narrow paths
– we go straight through the woods
– long steep climb and descent
– circular route

– lunch break during the hike, bring a picnic

– option to walk into the center of Monchique after the hike
