Iberian lynx hike

Did you know that in the area of Silves they run a conservation program to save the Iberian Lynx from extinction? Well, they are doing an amazing job and we are going to check it out!
Of course without interrupting the animals. Bring binoculars if you want… We are not allowed to enter the conservatory itself to prevent the animals from stress, but we can look into the enclosures from a reasonable distance. We combine this spotting of the Lynx with a nice hike into the hills of Silves and around the lake ‘Barragem de Arade’.

We will tell you all about the area and plants we come across. And of course you will learn everything there is to know about the conservation program and the life of the Iberian lynx cats.

ABOUT THIS HIKE:
– walk into the hills, overlooking the lake of Albufeira
– dirt track and concrete road
– several climbs and descents

– linear route, walking back and forth
